A little about Upper cumberland labradors

We are a small hobby Labrador Retriever breeder located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. We are nestled directly in the middle of Nashville, TN, Knoxville, TN, Chattanooga, TN, and Bowling Green, KY five minutes from Dale Hollow Lake.

Here at Upper Cumberland Labradors, our mission is to produce top-of-the-line, well-bred, and healthy Labrador retriever puppies that are truly versatile. We specialize in breeding Labradors that excel at their jobs, with the drive and trainability to tackle any task you give them. Whether it’s hunting, service work, or any other working activity, our dogs are up for the challenge!

We of course also understand the importance of having a loving and loyal family companion. That’s why we focus on breeding Labradors that have that special off switch, allowing them to seamlessly transition from their jobs to your home. We go to great lengths to carefully select our mamas based on their health, temperament, and trainability. Once we confirm they’re in top-notch health and have passed all necessary genetic tests through Embark/PawPrint Genetics and OFA (hips/elbows/eyes), we begin thoroughly planning each breeding. Our goal is to find the perfect stud that not only complements our girls but also enhances their strengths, resulting in each puppy truly embodying the perfect Labrador retriever! Our puppies are known for their exceptional workability and trainability, making them the perfect fit for any task or activity you have in mind.

We’ve made a deliberate choice to focus on breeding the classic black, chocolate, and yellow Labrador Retrievers in shades from light cream to fox red. Steering clear of dilute colors like silver, champagne, and charcoal is a personal commitment rooted in our dedication to the health and happiness of our dogs. This decision reflects our passion for maintaining the highest standards and ensuring the well-being of our beloved Labrador Retrievers for years to come

With Upper Cumberland Labradors, you can expect puppies that embody the best of both worlds – filled with drive and a strong work ethic, and the loving and loyal nature that makes them wonderful family companions. Our breeding program is dedicated to producing well-rounded Labradors that can truly do it all. We go the extra mile to ensure that our puppies receive individualized care and attention from the moment they’re born until they’re ready to join their new families. Our special program, tailored specifically for each puppy, focuses on their development and helps shape them into perfectly well-rounded Labrador Retrievers.

From just 3 days old, we work closely with each puppy, providing them with the love, socialization, and early training they need to thrive. We believe that early experiences and interactions are crucial in shaping their temperament and behavior. That’s why we prioritize creating a positive and stimulating environment for our puppies, helping them grow into confident and adaptable companions.

Our program includes exposure to various sights, sounds, and experiences to ensure that our puppies are well-rounded and adaptable to different environments. We introduce them to basic commands, crate training, and early socialization with other dogs, animals, and people. This helps them develop important skills and behaviors that will serve them well throughout their lives.

With our individualized approach, we strive to give each puppy the best start in life, setting them up for success in their future homes. When you choose a puppy from Upper Cumberland Labradors, you can be confident that they have received the individual care and attention needed to truly reach their full potential. Here at Upper Cumberland Labradors we’re committed to providing you with exceptional puppies that exceed your expectations.

Information on health screening can be found on the “Our Program” page under “Health Clearances”. Individual health screening results can be found listed under each dog on the “Adult Dogs” page.

Our family

Cory, Trish, Canaan, and Caden

If there is one thing our family loves, it’s labs! We absolutely love and adore the Labrador Retriever breed. We love to explore the outdoors, and what better companion than the Labrador Retriever? You will usually find us down at the lake, running around our yard, or out in the woods playing with our furry friends. Spoiled doesn’t even begin to describe our pack. Our dogs are our family just as much as our two (soon to be THREE) sweet boys.

Our hobbies outside of our dogs: Cory enjoys fixing up old Toyota pickup trucks. Any Toyota pickup from 1984-1995 and he’s all over it. As for me, I enjoy photography and spending time with my boys. Our oldest son, Canaan, is OBSESSED with his furry siblings, monster trucks, dirt bikes, the outdoors, and pretty much all animals. He was born to explore. Caden, really loves pretty much everything. He is the sweetest soul and so full of joy. We know one thing for sure, he LOVES the Labrador Retriever breed just as much as we do. We look forward to meeting our newest son, Cason and learning all about him.
